MANILA, Philippines – Boxing great “Sugar” Ray Leonard said fight fans like him are beginning to lose interest in seeing the super showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Leonard said the two boxers are leaving fight aficionados hanging because of their failure to make the fight.

He said he hopes to see the fight soon while both Pacquiao and Mayweather are still at their prime.

“Speaking as a boxing fan, naturally I want to see that fight... and I want to see it sooner rather than later," said Leonard in Doghouse Boxing.

"It won't be the same if they leave it much longer."

Fans have been clamoring for a mega fight between the two boxers since Pacquiao took over Mayweather’s status as the world’s top pound-for-pound boxer three years ago.

However, Mayweather’s drug-testing demand and refusal to split the fight revenues kept the superbout from happening.
