MANILA, Philippines – ALA boxers Genesis "Azukal" Servania, "King" Arthur Villanueva, and Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista will headline an action-packed boxing card when "Pinoy Pride" holds its first overseas event in Dubai this September.
Servania will put on stake his WBO Intercontinental Super Bantamweight title against Mexico's Jose "Matador" Cabrera, while Villanueva will go up against Henry "El Crespo" Maldonado of Nicaragua for the IBF International junior bantamweight crown.
"He has a defensive style," Servania said of his opponent in Rene Bonsubre’s Philboxing report. “It will be a question of adjustments inside the ring. I will try to destroy his style and game plan."
Meanwhile, Bautista will square off against Mexico’s Juan Jose “Piquet” Martinez in a 10-round non-title super featherweight fight.
Boom Boom, who has adjusted at 130 pounds, still enjoys a following and hopes that he will be able to give fans a thrilling fight in Dubai.
"Featherweights are faster, the boxers hit harder when I moved up in weight but I can take their punches," said Bautista.
The Dubai card, named “Pinoy Pride XXVII: Duel in Dubai,” was initially slated on August, but was moved to September 5.
ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer said they have decided to move the date to give way to more sponsors.
"More sponsors want to come in so we thought to move it and give it more time," he said.
