MANILA, Philippines – Basketball teams that are interested in joining the PBA D-League for the upcoming Aspirants' Cup have until Wednesday, July 30, to submit their letters of intent to the PBA Commissioner's Office, the league has announced.
"A lot of companies have called us up and expressed their intention to join," PBA Commissioner Chito Salud said. "We would like to remind them that the deadline for submission of their letter of intent is July 30."
There will be no grace period, Salud stressed.
"Teams that are able to meet the deadline and pay the tournament fee on September 1 will make it to the list of participants for the Aspirants' Cup," he added.
The teams that have already confirmed their participation are: Café France, Racal Motorsales Corp., Wang Basketball and Jumbo Plastic Linoleum.
Cebuana Lhuillier, Kia Motors, and Boracay Rum have expressed interest in joining the tournament as well.
The PBA D-League season kicks off on October 27, with the rookie draft set for September 16.
The league also announced that Filipino-foreign players who wish to join the draft have until August 22 to submit their applications, while local players have until August 28.
