MANILA – Lyceum overcame a faltering Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 73-67, to leapfrog to solo fourth spot in the 90th NCAA basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City on Friday.

The Pirates leaned on Wilson Baltazar's 4th-quarter eruption and Joseph Gabayni's double-double effort to score their fourth win in six starts.

Baltazar poured in 9 of his game-best 20 points in the final period while Gabayni posted his third straight double-double performance with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

With the victory, Lyceum surged ahead of San Sebastian (3-2) in the standings and moved closer to San Beda (5-0), Arellano U (4-1) and Perpetual Help (3-1).

"We're getting wins because these players are playing tough," said Lyceum coach Bonnie Tan pointing to Baltazar and Gabayni.

The Generals fell to their fourth straight defeat to slide to 1-4.
