MANILA, Philippines – James Harden is looking forward to a more fruitful NBA season with Houston with the Rockets' recent acquisition of Dwight Howard.
Harden, who is in Manila with New Orleans’ Eric Gordon for the NBA 3X Philippines, described Howard as “the best big man in the NBA.”
Harden added that he expects the seven-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year to make a big splash in Houston especially after having a rough season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
“Last year has been a down year for Dwight with injuries… but this year, he’s hungry. When we get to the training camp, I think we should be alright,” he said.
Howard decided to sign up with the Rockets after spending the 2012-2013 season with the fancied Lakers.
Despite injuries, he averaged 17.1 points, a league-leading 12.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks as a Laker.
His arrival in Houston makes a potent combination for the Rockets, who already have the likes of Harden and Jeremy Lin.
Last season, Houston made it to NBA Playoffs for the first time since three years.
