MANILA, Philippines – Super bantam prospect Genesis “Azukal” Servania and comebacking Jason Pagara will headline Pinoy Pride XV, which is scheduled at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City on August 18.
Also to be featured in the event is Jimrex Jaca, who is best remembered for his gallant fight against Juan Manuel Marquez in 2006.
According to Philboxing, Sevania with take on Jorge Pazos of Mexico City for the WBO Asia-Pacific super bantamweight title.
Servania is coming off an impressive 12th-round technical knockout win over Genaro Garcia last June.
Pagara, meanwhile, will face Mexico’s Rosbel Montoya in a rematch.
Pagara lost by decision to Montoya last September after being outboxed by the smart-fighting Mexican for most part of their fight.
Following the loss, the Filipino persuaded his handlers to give him a rematch against his tormentor.
“We give him this chance … for him to prove himself,” ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer said. “We told our boxers that sometimes you only have one chance in your career.”
Jaca, a former world title contender, attempts to make a final push in his career by taking on Angel Martinez of Mexico City in a 10-round non-title fight.
