MANILA, Philippines – Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez said Manny Pacquiao is different from Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Marquez, who will face Pacquiao in a 144-pound catchweight fight, said the Filipino champion is willing to engage unlike Mayweather.
“Pacquiao is not like Mayweather, who spends a lot of time [in the ring] being very cautious,” he said in Boxingscene.com.
Marquez thinks Pacquiao’s aggressiveness may turn out to be his downfall when they fight on November 12.
“Pacquiao, [is] a fighter who likes to fight, and that suits me,” said the Mexican.
Marquez has already fought Pacquiao twice.
The first fight in 2004 ended in a controversial draw. The second fight that followed 4 years later ended in a split decision in favor of Pacquiao.
Marquez also battled Mayweather at a 144-lb. catchweight bout in 2009.
The Mexican, however, lost via a lopsided decision to the craftier American boxer.
