MANILA – Blackwater Sports chose veteran player Danny Ildefonso as its top overall pick during the PBA dispersal draft on Friday.

Dioceldo Sy’s Blackwater immediately went for the 37-year-old veteran who was put on unprotected status by Meralco.

Sy said they will be banking on the experience of the two-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) to build up their young lineup.

"Syempre, experience at pangalan mayroon na siya. He's still good for two years. He is a good choice to lay down the foundation of this team," said Sy in Snow Badua’s report.

Meanwhile, KIA Motors’ deputy coach Glenn Capacio grabbed former Far Eastern University (FEU) standout Reil Cervantes the second pick.

"I think it was a wise move on our part, we know kukunin nila eh. Inunanahan na namin," said Capacio.

The other players chosen by Blackwater are:

Alex Nuyles, Jr Cawaling,
Eddie Laure,
Bryan Faundo,
JP Erram,
