Gilas look to make it two in a row vs. Taipei B

The Philippines enter the 3:00 p.m. match at 1-1 following an 88-72 victory over Taipei A Sunday, a nice bounce back effort after absorbing a 13-point beating at the hands of Canada on opening day. Richard Esguerra, ABS-CBN Sports.

After an impressive win against Taipei A, Gilas Pilipinas will look to make it two in a row in the 2017 Jones Cup as the national team takes on Taipei B Monday.

The Philippines enter the 3:00 p.m. match at 1-1 following an 88-72 victory over Taipei A Sunday, a nice bounce back effort after absorbing a 13-point beating at the hands of Canada on opening day.

Fil-German Christian Standhardinger was big for Gilas against Taipei A, going for a 17-point, 15-rebound double-double.

Fil-Canadian Matthew Wrgith was also effective, breaking out from his shooting slump to fire four triples. He also scored 17 points.

Put into the starting point guard role, Kiefer Ravena ran the Philippine offense to near perfection, dropping 15 points, eight rebounds, and four assists for a nice all-around effort.

Taipei B is 0-2 after two days of competition.
