Mayweather claims he doesn't know UFC's Rousey
Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. claimed that he doesn't have a clue who Ronda Rousey is.
In an interview with the boxing media, Mayweather said he just wants to focus on his rematch against Argentina’s Marcos Maidana and does not want to entertain thoughts of fighting anyone else.
“Everybody's trying to fight Floyd Mayweather,” Mayweather said in a YouTube video posted by Boxing Scene’s David Greisman.
But when asked if he’s willing to take on Rousey, the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Mayweather replied: “I don’t even know who he is.”
Rousey is one of UFC's biggest stars, having popularized women's MMA with her brutal victories against her opponents.
Several months ago, UFC president Dana White answered queries about a faceoff between Rousey and Mayweather, claiming that the pound-for-pound boxing champion will get a beating in a street fight with the well-rounded Rousey.
"Listen I get it. It's hard for guys to wrap their brains around that one," White said at a press conference. "Ronda wouldn't beat him. She'd hurt him badly. She'd hurt him badly."
"She'll kick the living [expletive] out of me. And you. And everybody else standing here, whether you like it or not," White said.
