MANILA, Philippines – Port operator International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) clinched the championship in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Futsal Cup for the second time last weekend at the Emilio Aguinaldo College Gym in Manila.
Aside from ICTSI players, the team was also composed of futsal enthusiasts from selected listed companies and brokerage firms.
ICTSI's Arthur Tabuena was named the Most Valuable Player of the competition after scoring two of the four goals in the championship game and grabbing a hat-trick in the semi-finals.
ICTSI won its first championship in the 3rd PSE Futsal Cup held in 2012.
First Metro Securities placed second, while its players Francisco Bonoan and Russ Toribio bagged the Best Goalkeeper and Best Defender awards, respectively.
In the battle for third, Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) prevailed over SM Prime Holdings, Inc. Meralco player Callistus Udoh was the recipient of the Most Goals Award after scoring 10 goals in the tournament.
This year's edition of the PSE Futsal Cup saw 96 players in action including those from Aboitiz Power Corporation, ABS-CBN, PSE Red, and PSE Yellow.
