MANILA, Philippines – Jeff Viernes powered Che’Lu Bar & Grill to a 139-101 rout of AMA Online Education on Thursday in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Viernes, a former GlobalPort guard, had a game-high 35 points built on seven three-pointers, while adding four assists, three rebounds, and three steals to guide the Revellers back to the top of the standings with their 6-2 win-loss record.

Levi Hernandez contributed 22 points, 17 of which came in the second half, on top of six rebounds and four assists.

Jason Melano tallied a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Chris Bitoon scored 12 points and four assists in the blowout.

With the game well in hand, coach Stevenson Tiu also got the chance to test his seldom-used players in preparation for the playoffs.

“When is good enough? ‘Di naman pare-pareho ang makakalaban, kaya dapat ‘yung intensity natin, dapat pare-parehas,” he insisted. “’Yung mga games na ito ang pwede namin i-test ‘yung ibang players para pagdating sa playoffs, handa sila.”

Che’Lu broke the game open in the second quarter, when it outscored AMA, 31-22, to enter the break with a 60-42 lead.

They went on to lead by as much as 40 points, 139-96, via a Dawn Ochea bucket late as the Revellers barely broke a sweat in the rout.

Andre Paras carried the also-ran Titans (0-8) with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while John Carlo Garcia and Ken Soriano had 15 points each.
