MANILA, Philippines – Hall-of-Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach wants British boxer Amir “King” Khan to knockout WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia in order to avoid putting his fate at the hands of the judges.

“I’m worried about decisions since Manny Pacquiao’s fight,” Roach said to Boxing Scene.

Roach also trains Pacquiao, the Filipino fight king who lost a highly controversial decision to unbeaten American boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. last June 9.

Khan has also been on the receiving end of disputed decisions, having lost his IBF and WBA light-welterweight titles via split decision to Lamont Peterson last December.

“I’ve told Amir that we have to knock this guy out somewhere along the way,” Roach said.

Khan will battle the undefeated Garcia on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, for Garcia’s WBC title and the vacant WBA title.

Meanwhile, Roach said he is not unconcerned about the trash talking of Garcia’s father, Angel.

“He’s trying to get under our skin, trying to talk s***. I laughed at him. I think he’s funny,” Roach said.

“He says stupid stuff, where does that come from? I hope his son has a better education than him. I feel sorry for his son, but you can’t choose your parents,” he added.
