MANILA – Filipino fighter Eric "The Natural" Kelly vowed to do everything in his power to take down Australia’s “Ruthless” Rob Lisita for another crack at the ONE FC featherweight crown.

Kelly will be clashing against Lisita in a title eliminator at the main event of ONE FC: War of Dragons on Friday night in Taipei.

It’s been a year since the Benguet-born fighter fought in ONE FC, but Kelly said he is ready to make up for his absence from the ONE FC cage.

“This year that I've been away from ONE FC, I'm training hard to get back to the championship belt again,” said Kelly, who weighed in at 65.7 kilograms on Thursday’s weigh-in ceremonies.

“I'm eager to fight and I'm eager to win,” added the Filipino mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, whose only loss in his 11 fight career was against fellow Filipino, Honorio Banario.

Kelly got his shot at the featherweight belt against Banario in 2013. But due to a host of injuries, he failed to win.

Now that he’s healthy, he is looking forward to proving himself worthy for a title shot again.

But he will have to get past Lisita, an Australian with knockout power in both hands. Just recently, “Ruthless” knocked out Yusuke Kawanago in just 1 round.

“The only thing that stands between me and the world championship is Eric Kelly,” said Lisita, who weighed in at 65.8 kilograms for the featherweight clash.
“I'm not worried about his credentials, I know I've fought tougher guys... my time is now.”

Kelly isn’t worried about Lisita’s pronouncements.

“Let him say things... the important thing is in the cage. Talking is not important for me, but fighting is. We're trained to be a fighter not to be talker,” said Kelly.

“I have to win every fight and I'll do anything to win this fight.”

ONE FC: War of Dragons will also feature Taipei’s very own Paul Cheng who will slug it out against Mahmoud Hassan in a heavyweight fight.
