MANILA, Philippines – Have you noticed Nonito Donaire Jr.’s yellow and black outfit for the Jeffrey Mathebula fight last Sunday?

It was his way of paying tribute to the late martial arts-movie icon Bruce Lee, who also wore the same colors, in the movie “Game of Death.”

Donaire even posed in the ring with Lee’s student and close friend, Filipino martial arts instructor Dan Inosanto, after beating Mathebula by unanimous decision.

"I love Bruce Lee. I've read a lot about him in books, articles and I'm a big fan of his," the Filipino Flash said in Examiner.

To show how much he appreciates the martial arts hero, Donaire had yellow and black on his robe, trunks, down to his boxing shoes.

Even his team, including boxing coach Robert Garcia, wore the same colors.

"I like his philosophies and how he approaches life and martial arts. I'm the same way. He has inspired me to keep moving and to keep learning," said Donaire.

The Filipino Flash also thanked Inosanto for joining him in the ring.

“Thank you to ‘Guro’ Dan Inosanto, Bruce Lee's best friend,” Donaire said in his Facebook account.
