San Miguel's Fajardo nabs Season MVP award

MANILA – San Miguel big man JuneMar Fajardo was named this season’s PBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) during the 2014 LEO Awards at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.

Fajardo, who was handed the coveted MVP trophy shortly before Game 3 of the Governors’ Cup Finals, bested other league leaders such as Asi Taulava, Ranidel de Ocampo and Jayson Castro.

Aside from getting this year’s biggest award, the 6’11” Cebuano was also named Most Improved Player and was also included in the PBA Mythical 1st Team and the PBA All Defensive Team.

Fajardo had an average of 37.2 statistical points (SPs) with norms of 16.8 points, 14.2 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and 1.4 assists per game in the 2013-2014 PBA season.

Meanwhile, Barangay Ginebra’s Greg Slaughter was chosen as the PBA Rookie of the Year.
