MANILA, Philippines - Ateneo's star guard Kiefer Ravena will not suit up for the Blue Eagles against their arch rivals De La Salle this Sunday, the team announced.
In a text message, Ateneo Coach Bo Perasol said Ravena is "still recovering from a severe ankle sprain and is listed as day to day."
Ravena did not play in the Blue Eagles' game against Far Eastern University last Wednesday, which the Tamaraws won, 79-75, in overtime.
It was the first time that Ravena had missed a game in his UAAP career.
He played limited minutes in Ateneo's season opener against National University but was obviously hobbled by his injury.
Perasol earlier said that Ravena was "out indefinitely" for the Blue Eagles and acknowledged that the former Rookie of the Year may be out of action for longer than the team originally expected.
The Blue Eagles, the five-time defending UAAP champions, are aiming for their first win of the Season 76 men's basketball tournament on Sunday against the Green Archers.
