MANILA, Philippines – The Loyola Meralco Sparks will continue their campaign in the RHB Singapore Cup Monday as they take on Home United in the first leg of their quarter-final match-up at the Bishan Stadium.
The Sparks qualified to the quarter-final by routing Laos club Champasak, 7-1, in the preliminary round.
Meanwhile, Home United, the defending champions, beat Nagacorp, 5-0, in their own preliminary round game.
The S-League website noted that while it is the defending champion, Home United currently has a “woeful form,” having only won twice in the past five games.
The Sparks have been better, losing only once in their past five games, but they still failed to triumph in the United Football League, falling way behind Global FC.
Graham Cayhill is expected to lead the charge for Loyola, with Phil and James Younghusband providing ample support.
Meanwhile, Home will be led by Fazrul Nawaz, Qiu Li, Bruno Castanheira, Indra Sahdan and Lee Kwan Woo.
