MANILA, Philippines – Efren “Bata” Reyes suffered a heart-wrenching loss Thursday night after bowing to Dominic Jentsch of Germany in the Last 32 of the World 9-Ball Championship in Doha, Qatar.
Reyes crashed out of the tournament after yielding to the German cue artist, 11-10.
Reyes, popularly called as “The Magician,” was seeking his second 9-Ball crown since his World 9-Ball conquest in 1999.
A total of $300,000 prize money is at stake in the WPA sanctioned event.
The $40,000 top prize will go to the 2012 9-Ball champion.
