MANILA, Philippines – Dodie Boy Peñalosa Jr. knocked out Jeffrey Jimenez in the fourth round of their bout at the Cebu Coliseum, improving his win-loss record to 5-0.
All of Peñalosa's victories have come by knock out.
According to PhilBoxing.com, Peñalosa was bloodied by an accidental headbutt from Jimenez in the opening round, but the cut did not stop the nephew of former world champion Gerry Peñalosa.
Jimenez proved to be a worthy opponent for the undefeated Peñalosa and was able to land counterpunches despite being rattled by hooks from Dodie Boy Jr.
Peñalosa finally stopped Jimenez in the 0:58 mark of the fourth round via a well-placed left hand to the liver.
With his effort, Jimenez became the first opponent of Peñalosa to last beyond the third round.
In the supporting events, Marvin Mabait stopped Aljun Salogaol in the 1:07 mark of the seventh round, while Sonny Katiangdagho won via a second round TKO against Johnjier Torbiso.
