MANILA, Philippines – The San Mig Super Coffee Mixers have another chance of clinching a berth in the PBA Governors Cup finals when they face off against the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters in Game 4 of their best-of-five semi-finals series Wednesday night at the Araneta Coliseum.
Talk 'N Text evaded the broom by crushing San Mig, 112-86, in Game 3, and the Mixers will need to respond to avoid a do-or-die Game 5.
"Sometimes, you can’t get out of the way of the oncoming train," San Mig head coach Tim Cone said, as quoted by PBA.ph. "Talk 'N Text played with a lot of pride, and it showed in the score."
"Now, our job is to put that one away, move forward, and get ready for Game 4," he added.
Talk 'N Text completely outplayed San Mig in Game 3, blowing the game open thanks to a 32-point second quarter and leading by as much as 28 points in the second half.
After the game, Black commended his players for their strong offensive display.
"The ball was really moving from hand to hand. Nobody was really holding it," said the multi-titled coach.
But Black pointed out that the Texters cannot really celebrate yet because the advantage is still with the Grand Slam-seeking Coffee Mixers.
"We are still in survival mode," said Black. "So our attitude will be to get one more win, so we can put some pressure on them."
"Simply, it's all or nothing for us, so we will go out and fight for our lives," he added.
Game time is at 8 p.m.
