William “Butch” Ramirez has finally accepted incoming president Rodrigo Duterte’s offer to head the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) again.
Ramirez held the same post from 2005 to 2009 under then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
"I have accepted the offer. I will take the job seriously," said Ramirez in Spin.ph.
The Davao-based Ramirez, the PSC's first chairman from Mindanao, will replace Richie Garcia.
Ramirez initially turned down the offer to return to the PSC. However, he admitted it was hard to turn down the incoming president.
The Davao sportsman played a key role in Duterte's presidential campaign, including coordinating the logistics of the PDP-Laban bet's sorties across the country.
