MANILA, Philippines – Ginebra big man Greg Slaughter dominated the Master Game Face All-Star Challenge on Saturday night, scoring 27 points and even showing off his range by converting three three-point field goals.

Slaughter's efforts weren't enough to provide a win, as Team Marc lost, 110-135, to Team Chris, but he won Most Valuable Player honors and drew praise from NBA All-Star Kevin Love.

"The big fella, Greg Slaughter – that's my boy there," Love said after the festivities. "A big fella got the MVP, and I like to see that in all All-Star Game."

"I thought it was great," Love said. "Greg was out there shooting threes, and I think at one point, he made two in a row. I always like to see that. I like how the game is expanding for bigger players."

Slaughter later said he was "inspired" by Love, who is the 2012 NBA Three-Point Shootout champion.

Love also said he enjoyed watching the All-Star Game, which featured some of the top PBA and collegiate players, with PBA stars Chris Tiu and Marc Pingris serving as coaches.

"They protect the rim, they really get up and down the floor, and in the fourth quarter, Chris's team was… running up and down trying to run the score up," said Love, a three-time All-Star with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

"It was really fun to see, and I like what Philippine basketball is all about," he added.
