MANILA -- The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters bounced back on Sunday as they routed the Alaska Aces, 99-87, to level their PBA Governors Cup semifinal series at the Araneta Coliseum.
Rain or Shine saw their five-game winning streak snapped by the Aces last Friday, allowing Alaska to take a 1-0 lead in their best-of-five semifinal series.
Alaska took advantage of Rain or Shine’s crucial mistakes in the endgame, and in the process gained a measure of revenge for the 51-point beating that the E-Painters dealt them during the elimination round.
But on Sunday, the E-Painters ensured its victory with a 33-17 second-quarter blowout, led by Arizona Reid and Paul Lee, to end the half with a comfortable 50-38 lead.
They extended this lead in the third quarter, 71-45, which proved to be insurmountable for Alaska.
Reid led ROS with 27 points and 13 rebounds, while Lee contributed 21.
