MIAMI - The Miami Heat used a 19-4 run in the second quarter to power their way to a 59-49 halftime lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder and put themselves in position to claim the National Basketball Association title on Thursday.
Needing one more win to clinch the title, the Heat led 31-26 after the first quarter and went on a blistering surge to grab a 17-point lead during the second before the visitors closed to within 10 points heading into intermission.
LeBron James had 15 points to lead the scoring for Miami, who got 12 points from reserve Mike Miller, who went 4-for-4 from three-point range.
Kevin Durant scored 14 points and Russell Westbrook added 13 for the Thunder, who need a win to stay alive and send the best-of-seven series back to Oklahoma City.
