MANILA, Philippines – Talk ‘N Text is hoping for a reversal of fortune when they face the team that beat them in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Thursday.
The Tropang Texters are set for a best-of-five semifinal clash with San Mig Coffee in the Governors’ Cup and coach Norman Black expects it to be another tough grind with the Coffee Mixers.
“The next step is the semifinals. No matter who we play, it’s gonna be a tough series,” Black said in the PBA website.
San Mig Coffee was able to bring down Talk ‘N Text in four games during the Commissioner’s Cup finals.
This time though, the Tropang Texters have import Paul Harris, who has been instrumental to Talk ‘N Text’s recent successes.
Harris fired 24 points and brought down 13 rebounds when they essayed a 99-84 win against Barako Bull last Monday.
“It’s all about my team just focusing on our goals and what we’re trying to accomplish. We’re gonna play our best and we’ll be out there trying to win,” said Black.
Ranidel de Ocampo, for his part, said he hopes that their team will be able to continue its winning ways until they finish the Governors’ Cup finals.
“Sana ngayon kung makarating man kami sa Finals, mas maganda na 'yung resulta,” he said.
