MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) Three-time NBA All-Star Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves arrived in Manila late Thursday afternoon for a three-day sports engagement.
Love arrived at the NAIA Terminal 1 on board a China Southern Airline flight at around 4:45 p.m., and was welcomed by representatives from Unilever and Master Philippines.
Carla Garcia, the brand manager of Master Philippines, gave Love a basketball jersey that he will use for an exhibition game with Filipino players on Saturday night at the Araneta Coliseum.
Love will also hold basketball clinics on Friday before attending the Master Game Face All-Star Challenge on Saturday night, where he is expected to show off his skills.
Upon his arrival, Love expressed his excitement to meet Filipino basketball fans, and said he appreciated the warm welcome. He also said he intends to do some charity work during his brief stay in the country. -- Report from Raoul Esperas.
