MANILA, Philippines – San Mig Coffee is bringing in basketball commentator Jason Webb as one of its assistant coaches.

According to the PBA website, San Mig coach Tim Cone has lured Webb to join his coaching staff following the exit of his deputies Jeffrey Cariaso and Olsen Racela, who joined Barangay Ginebra.

“We feel with his insights into the game and work ethic, he will be a valuable contribution to the staff,” said Cone, whose San Mig Coffee recently eliminated San Miguel Beer from the PBA Governors' Cup race.

Webb, the third pick in the 1997 PBA Draft, will be joining the Coffee Mixers’ bench for the Governors’ Cup semifinals.

Webb, the son of former basketball player “Fastbreak” Freddie Webb, used to play for Sta. Lucia Realtors and Tanduay Rhum Masters.
