The fighting congressman forgets Bradley
MANILA, Philippines – With his beloved province still reeling from the effects of a severe storm surge, Sarangani Cong. Manny Pacquiao has decided to forget Timothy Bradley and attend to the needs of his constituents.
“Nag-decide ako na umuwi muna ako sa probinsya ko para kamustahin ‘yung mga kababayan ko doon na naapaektuhan ng baha,” Pacquiao said shortly after arriving in Manila on Saturday.
Pacquiao is scheduled to fly to Sarangani province on Sunday to make the rounds of evacuation centers.
He said he has no qualms about spending Father’s Day away from his family.
The congressman said he needs to make sure that his constituents are well taken care of.
“Kailangan nila ‘yung tulong ko at balikan ko na lang 'yung pamilya at mga anak ko sa LA 'pag natapos na 'yung mga problema sa Sarangani,” said Pacquiao.
The fighting congressman earlier shrugged off reports that investigations are being poised on his controversial defeat to Bradley.
Pacquiao believes that he won the fight, but that he can do nothing to overturn his split decision loss.
“Bayaan na natin sila,” the pound-for-pound champion told ABS-CBN North America News Bureau correspondent Steve Angeles.
He, however, urged his fans to accept the verdict despite the controversy.
"Para sa mga fans, tanggapin na siguro natin. ‘Pagdasal nalang natin na ‘yung tiwala ng mga tao sa boxing is nandoon pa rin, yung tiwala nila.” -- With a report from Bettina Magsaysay, ABS-CBN News
