Lady Volcanoes bow to Thais

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Lady Volcanoes lost a gallant battle against Thailand’s Women’s Rugby team in the Women's 4 Nations Rugby Championships held at the Canlubang Plains in Laguna on Thursday.

The Lady Volcanoes succumbed to the Thais, 15-50, in their Division 2 game.

The Thais proved to be quick on their feet, immediately opening the game with 2 tries for a 19-0 advantage.

By the end of the first half, Thailand already held a 26-5 lead over the Philippines.

After another try by the Thais, Manilla Santos struck hard for the Volcanoes to chop Thailand’s lead down to 18, 38-10.

Aye Honoras scored the Philippines last hurrah, but the Thais were just too tough to beat.

Thailand eventually closed out the Volcanoes, 50-15.
