Eustaquio hopes to get ONE FC title shot

MANILA, Philippines – Team Lakay’s Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio hopes that his fight against Japan’s Kentaro Watanabe will give him a shot at the vacant ONE FC flyweight crown.

Eustaquio will be fighting the Japanese striker at the main card of ONE FC: Era of Champions on Saturday. The card, which will feature Adriano Moraes versus Kosuke Suzuki in the main event, will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia.

“I want to put on a good show, and I want to come back to the Philippines with a win. It is important for me to win if I want to stay in title contention,” the Filipino said in Carlos Cinco’s report to

Eustaquio said he liked what he saw when he watched Watanabe’s fight tapes.

“I know what to expect,” he said. “He is good all-around, but I think I am better. I don’t think there’s anywhere that he will have an advantage.”

Two other Filipinos are included in the card.

Former boxer Jomanz Omanz will be fighting Muay Thai expert Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, while Ruel Catalan will face off against Malaysian wonder Gianni Subba.
