MANILA – The Barangay Ginebra Kings will aim to take a share of the lead in the PBA Governors Cup standings when they play the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna Sunday night.

Both teams are coming off victories, with Ginebra beating Barako Bull, 98-70, last Tuesday, while Rain or Shine on Wednesday crushed Alaska, 123-72, in a historic beatdown.

“We’re still struggling,” Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao said, downplaying their victory. “But of course, we’re happy we’ve picked up some wins.”

“At mabuti, nakakuha kami ng momentum going to our game against Ginebra,” Guiao added in the report.

A win on Sunday will bolster Rain or Shine’s bid to make the top four. Meanwhile, Ginebra is trying to formalize its entry into the playoffs while at the same time boost its chances of earning a twice-to-beat advantage.

Rain or Shine has won two straight games after a poor start to the season and are now toting a 3-3 record. But they are still in the middle of the pack.

Meanwhile, Ginebra has a 4-1 record, just behind the league-leading Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters (5-1).

Game time is at 5:15 p.m.
