MANILA, Philippines – World super bantamweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire expects Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao to overwhelm unbeaten American boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. with his speed.

Speaking with Ronnie Nathanielsz of PhilBoxing, Donaire said Pacquiao’s vaunted speed will be “the key to him winning this fight.”

Pacquiao’s handspeed, combined with his footwork and punching power, has overwhelmed many of his previous opponents, leading to knockout victories against numerous world-class boxers including Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto and Oscar De La Hoya.

“He’s got plenty of experience, and the advantage he has is power,” Donaire added.

Like many of Pacquiao’s supporters, Donaire is also warning the Filipino champion to be careful of Bradley, who has not lost in 29 professional fights.

“(Bradley) is young, he’s hungry, and if he has a good game plan, it could be hard for Manny,” Donaire said.

“But I think Manny’s speed, power and experience, and (if) he doesn’t over-commit, that’s they key to dominating him,” he added.

Donaire feelts that if Pacquiao “is in shape – as he always has – he can definitely put on a performance.”

Donaire is currently training for his super bantamweight title defense against South African boxer Jeffrey Mathebula on July 7 at the Home Deport Center.
