MANILA, Philippines – UFC middleweight contender Mark "The Filipino Wrecking Machine" Muñoz vowed to bounce back following his submission loss to Gegard Mousasi in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Germany last weekend.

Mousasi forced Muñoz to tap out at the 3:57 mark of the first round through a rear naked choke. It was Muñoz’s second consecutive loss after getting knocked out by Lyoto Machida in October last year.

"It was Gegard Mousasi's night. Congrats to Gegard," Muñoz said in a statement posted on his official website. "That was a tough loss."

"I will pick up the pieces and keep going," he added.
"It doesn't matter how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up again. That's what I'll do."

Muñoz also expressed his gratitude to his fans in the Philippines for their support.

The loss was Muñoz's third in his last four fights. His last victory came in July 2013, when he out-pointed Tim Boetsch.
