MANILA, Philippines – For the third time in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup, Ginebra point guard LA Tenorio has earned Player of the Week honors.

Tenorio's excellent playmaking and all-around effort have been crucial in Ginebra's push for a Top 2 spot at the end of the eliminations.

He averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals in the Gin Kings' wins over Blackwater and Meralco last week, beating the likes of San Miguel's Alex Cabagnot, Chris Ross and Marcio Lassiter, Star guards Paul Lee and Jio Jalalon, NLEX's JR Quiñahan and Alex Mallari, as well GlobalPort's Terrence Romeo for the citation in the period of May 22 to 28.

Tenorio had 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in the Gin Kings' 96-82 win over Blackwater in Biñan, Laguna.

He showed off his playmaking skills against the Elite, firing the nifty pass in the final period that led to an easy dunk for import Justin Brownlee. That spurred the Gin Kings into a 10-point lead, and they never looked back.

Two days later, he scored 22 points on top of three rebounds and three assists as Ginebra escaped with a 90-89 win over Meralco to zoom to a share of the top spot.

Tenorio's free throws in the dying seconds gave Ginebra just enough cushion to survive the Bolts' tough stand in end game.

Ginebra will now have five days' rest before returning to action on Friday against Mahindra. A win by the Kings will give them the No. 1 seed and the twice-to-beat edge in the quarterfinals.
