"I'm very happy with the clean sheet," said Global coach Leigh Manson. "It was a good night for Global FC. It wasn't an easy win. The players had to work hard on the pitch."
"It was the first time that we went against the Cambodian team, and it was interesting for us to compare ourselves with them," he added.
With the victory, Global FC booked a meeting against Singapore's Tampines Rovers in the next round.
"I'm looking forward to meeting the Singapore team in the next round," Manson said.
Aside from Global FC, another UFL club, Ceres-La Salle, will also compete in the Singapore Cup.
