Mixers seek bounce-back win against Bolts

MANILA – Defending champions San Mig Super Coffee Mixers look to recover from a heartbreaking loss when they take on the winless Meralco Bolts in the PBA Governors Cup tonight at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

San Mig is coming off a close 90-92 defeat against San Miguel Beer and hope they can get back on track against Meralco, which has lost all three of its games so far in the conference.

The Mixers could have won their game against the Beermen, but San Miguel import Reggie Williams managed to steal the ball from reigning Best Import Marqus Blakely to preserve the win.

“It would have been a big win, but we didn’t get it,” San Mig coach Tim Cone said in a PBA.ph report. “Every game counts, and we’ll put this game behind us and move forward.”

The Bolts are hoping that the return of import Mario West – who replaces Terrence Williams – will give them the boost they sorely need.

West has been Meralco’s import in the past two editions of the Governors Cup.

Game time is at 5:45 p.m.
