MANILA, Philippines – Filipino mixed martial arts fighter Honorio Banario is on a comeback trail and is eager to duplicate the winning ways of his teammates in Team Lakay.

Banario will be fighting for the first time since losing his bout against world featherweight titlist Koji Oishi when he goes up against Mongolia’s Jadamba Narantungalag on the main card of "ONE FC: Honor and Glory" on Friday.

"I am very excited at this opportunity to get back into competition," the Filipino striker said.

The former ONE FC featherweight champion added that he is highly motivated to win after seeing his teammates win earlier this month at a ONE FC card in Manila.

Team Lakay’s Eduard Folayang and Rey Docyogen scored dominant victories against former champion Kotetsu Boku and Josh Alvarez, respectively, in "ONE FC: Rise of Heroes."

“My teammates have done very well this year and I want to continue the streak going and get back into the win column,” said Banario.

“Honor and Glory,” which will feature the ONE FC debut of former Bellator champion Ben Askren, will take place in Singapore.

Folayang, who accompanied Banario to Singapore, is sure of his team mate’s chances against Narantungalag.

"I am very confident in his abilities. I think he will put on a good show and win the fight against his opponent," said Folayang.

Both Banario and Narantungalag have identical 8-3 pro records.
