MANILA – The Adamson Lady Falcons defeated the University of Santo Tomas Tigresses in straight sets, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-22, to seal a third-place finish in the first conference of the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Sunday at the San Juan Arena.
Four players scored in double digits for the Lady Falcons, led by guest player Pacharee Sangmuang with 14 points on 13 attacks.
Shiela Pineda, Pau Soriano and Amanda Villanueva all scored 11 points, while Mylene Paat scored eight points anchored on four blocks to help the Lady Falcons secure the victory in just under one hour and 30 minutes.
Chlodia Cortez scored 13 points for UST, and Ennajie Laure had nine points, but no other player scored more than four points for the Tigresses.
Adamson scored 44 points off attacks, while UST was held to 27 points. Led by Pineda, the Lady Falcons also got 10 aces to only four for the Tigresses.
The Lady Falcons had beaten the Tigresses in four sets, 2517, 25-23, 18-25, and 25-19, in the first game of the best-of-three series last week.
The bronze medal finish was a consolation prize for Adamson, which lost to Far Eastern University in a do-or-die match for a Finals berth in their semi-final showdown.
