Coach says Pacquiao will be ready for adjustments
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing trainer Freddie Roach has already laid out Manny Pacquiao’s strategy to counter Timothy Bradley’s fighting style.
After watching several tapes of Bradley’s past fights, the veteran ring tactician is convinced that he has the American boxer figured out.
"He's very offensive, he comes to fight and I think that it will be a good fight for everybody and I've prepared my game plan for Manny after watching many many tapes of Bradley. We have the game plan set," Roach said in RingTV.
Roach believes the young lion in Bradley will force his will against Pacquiao.
But in case Bradley runs, just like Shane Mosley did against Pacquiao, Roach said they also have a strategy in place.
"My initial feeling is that, yes, I think that he will fight Manny. He's going to try to show that he's the better athlete and the more conditioned athlete. But I do have a runner and a mover that spars with Manny just in case that happens, so whatever he brings, we're prepared for," he said.
“So Manny's ready for a slugger and he's ready for a boxer and I'm covering all of my bases."
Roach also commented on Bradley’s plans to emulate Juan Manuel Marquez.
Pacquiao nearly lost to Marquez during their third fight because of the latter’s accurate counter-punching.
"I've been watching Bradley a lot, and I don't think that he's that good of a counter-puncher," said Roach.
