MANILA, Philippines – Nike and Spanish football giants FC Barcelona have unveiled the team’s new home kit for the 2014-2015 season, with the stars of the first team uniting with promising young players to launch the new design.
FC Barcelona B-team players Sargi Samper, Edgar Ié and Jean Marie Dongou Tsafack joined forces with established first-team members to unveil the new kit, which marks the return of the Blaugrana for the 2014-15 season with a bold and classic look.
In a statement, Nike said the new design “provides Barcelona fans with their most authentic and truest identity of the modern era.”
Among the new home kit’s features are bolder and wider Barcelona stripes in darker tones of red and blue, as well as a new crest, and unique relaxed blue collar that showcases a Senyera flag in the open V-neck.
Inside the back of the beck is a blue pennant tab inscribed with the Barca motto: “Mes que un club” (More than a club), and the squad’s founding year of 1899.
On the back of the neck is “Barca” in Senyera yellow, written in the club’s unique font.
The new home shorts are blue with a thin red stripe along each side, while the new home socks are also blue with a red band at the top and a wide red stripe of chevrons on the back.
