MANILA, Philippines – Boxing promoter Bob Arum has reminded 4-division former world champion Nonito Donaire Jr. that he has a tough assignment in WBA featherweight king Simpiwe Vetyetka.

In an interview with Philboxing's Ronnie Nathanielsz, Arum said “The Filipino Flash” should be prepared when he takes on the slick fighting South African on May 31.

“[Donaire] doesn’t have an easy fight against Vetyeka. He has a very hard fight,” he said.

Donaire, for his part, said he is getting closer to his peak for the featherweight title bout set to take place in Macau.

He said he is preparing thoroughly, as he will be coming in as the underdog against the WBA title holder.

“The way I’ve been training now it’s more than all the fights I’ve ever done in the past. It’s about 150 percent compared to my previous fights but still that’s not my potential. We are not there yet but we’ll get there every fight,” said Donaire.

He added that they already have a game plan against Vetyeka and that is just a matter of executing their strategy on fight night.

“We are ready to execute it and ready to go” said Donaire.
