MANILA, Philippines – Welterweight champion Timothy Bradley said his challenger, Juan Manuel Marquez, has agreed to undergo double drug testing for their title fight in September.

Bradley said Marquez, who was hounded by speculations of performance enhancement drug (PED) use, has agreed to be tested by both the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) and the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

“If anyone was worried on either side, don’t be. There will be double drug testing in this fight,” Bradley told the Desert Sun

“We’ll do two drug tests so everyone will know we’re clean athletes and that 100 percent of our heart is in our training and there’s no cheating going on.”

Marquez’s recent knockout win against Manny Pacquiao was tainted by accusations of PED use because of his association with self-admitted former drug peddler Angel “Memo” Heredia.

Marquez’s shredded physique also bolstered suspicions, which ruined his chances for the 2012 Fighter of the Year award.

The Mexican, however, denied using banned substances.

“I think that you can say anything that you want, but you don't have any proof, so what does that mean? It means nothing. But I've told them, that I'm willing to take any exam that they want, and let's go together and we can both do it together," he said.
