MANILA — TNT and Alaska resume play in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after an extended layoff, with both teams aiming to get back on the winning track.

Tip-off is at 5 p.m. at Ibalong Centrum for Recreation in Legazpi City.

While some clubs had to give up a player or two for the national-team cause, it was TNT which felt the pain the most loaning 3 players to Gilas Pilipinas and consequently losing 2 games in a row without them.

The KaTropa, who started 5-0, are ready to get Jayson Castro, RR Pogoy and Troy Rosario back in the fold and resume their pursuit of a spot in the top 2 and a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

TNT will parade a new foreign reinforcement in Joshua Smith, a 300-pound NBA D-League veteran whom the team says was its first choice as import.

Alaska, who will welcome back Calvin Abueva from Gilas, is on a skid, too, losing 3 straight after a 4-0 start.
