Janisa Johnson announced her arrival with a scintillating performance to power the high-school standouts-bannered BaliPure, 22-25, 25-23, 28-26, 22-25, 15-12, past listless Petro Gazz Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The American player debuted with 31 points, 27 coming off attacks including the match-clinching hit that gave the Water Defenders their first taste of victory after two matches.
“The addition of Johnson is deeply appreciated,” said Water Defenders coach Babes Castillo.
The Angels remain winless in three games.
