'El Nino' Pagara bares preps vs Mexico's Herrera
MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxer Jason “El Nino” Pagara will be defending his WBO international junior welterweight crown against Mexican boxer Aaron “La Hoya” Herrera on May 25.
The fight will be among the main bouts of Pinoy Pride XX, slated to take place at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
As part of his preparations, Pagara revealed that they have studied Herrera’s fighting style.
“I have seen the fight films of my opponent and studied his style.” Pagara said in Rene Bonsubre’s Philboxing report.
The Cagayan de Oro native, who is riding on a three-fight win streak, described his opponent as a “good boxer.”
“He is good but I will try my best to win by knockout,” Pagara said.
The 24-year-old was also confident that he will have no problems making the 140-pound weight limit.
“I am just three pounds over the limit,” he said.
Other Filipinos to be featured in the main card of Pinoy Pride XX include Genesis “Azukal” Servania and and Jimrex “Executioner” Jaca.
