MANILA, Philippines – Mexican champion Juan Manuel Marquez and former lightweight titleholder Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios agreed that American superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. is unbeatable.

In separate interviews with Boxing Scene, Marquez and Rios said they believe no fighter between the junior welterweight up to the junior middleweight division is capable of handing Mayweather his first professional defeat.

“Floyd’s still unbelievable,” said Rios. “He’s untouchable. I don’t think nobody can beat that guy. He’s just too good.”

Rios added that Mayweather “was born as a fighter.”

“Just natural talent…Floyd’s just a bada**. That’s all I can say,” he said.

Marquez, for his part, said: “At the moment, in my personal opinion, I think nobody can beat him.”

Mayweather dominated Marquez when they fought in 2009, and the Mexican legend has said he has no intention of challenging “Money” again.

Marquez also said that even unbeaten Mexican champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is not capable of beating Mayweather.

“If they announce the fight between them for September, I think it’s too soon,” Marquez said. “I believe Saul needs more (experience) for a fight like that, to meet someone like that.”

“What happens is up to them, but if that is a fight that the fans want, then nobody can deny what the public is asking for,” he added.

At the same time, Marquez pointed out that even if Alvarez loses to Mayweather, he still wins by gaining experience.

“If he loses to Mayweather, he really loses nothing because he would lose to the best fighter in the world, and he would learn a lot,” he said.
