MANILA -- Jayson Castro came up with his best performance of the conference, leading the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters to an 86-76 win at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday to even the PBA Commissioners Cup championship series against the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers.
"The Blur" scored a conference-high 30 points, shooting 10-for-21 from the field and 5-for-8 from beyond the arc, while also grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out five assists and getting four steals.
According to the PBA website, Castro's came up big late in the fourth quarter, sinking a triple that put the game away from the Mixers.
Castro also got help from import Richard Howell, who scored 18 points and had 20 rebounds, and from Ranidel de Ocampo, who chipped in eight points, including two game-sealing free throws.
Meanwhile, import James Mays and Justin Melton led San Mig Coffee with 15 points each, while Mark Pingris contributed 11 points.
With their latest win, the Texters managed to turn the original best-of-five series into a race-to-two contest.
