BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Three foreign teams who will participate in the 2014 Asian Football Confederation (AFP) Presidents Cup Group B qualifiers are now in Bacolod City.

Top-seed Turkmenistan was the first team to arrive on Friday night at the Bacolod-Silay airport, where they were met by Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella.

Turkmenistan head coach Rowshen Meridov said their goal is to pass the group stage and advance to the finals.

Turkmenistan is the defending champion in the AFC Presidents Cup.

North Korea, represented by the Rimyungso Football Club, arrived Sunday morning, while Chinese-Taipei, represented by the Tatung Football Club, arrived Sunday afternoon.

The Philippine team is represented by the Ceres-La Salle football club, which is based in Bacolod City.

The tournament kicks off on Tuesday, May 6, with games scheduled for May 8 and May 10 at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

Additional temporary structures were built in the venue, and the host team has installed almost 500 vaulted chairs at the main stadium to serve as VIP seats.
