De La Salle Canlubang chess tilt set

MANILA, Philippines – The second edition of the De La Salle Canlubang (DLSC) Chess Cup gets underway this May in Biñan, Laguna.

The tournament is open to all untitled Filipino players in the country who are members of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).

The competition will be divided to two categories, namely the Non-Master Category and the Kiddie Category (14 years old and below).

The event is supported by Office of Sports Development-DLSC, NCFP, Jolly Smile Dental Clinic, Shyanna’s Salon, Diadem Business Solutions and Laguna Chess Center.

"Players must bring and present their NCFP IDs during the registration. Players who are not members yet may apply for membership at the venue," said Laguna Chess Center head Dr. Alfredo Paez.

The tournament will take place at the 3rd floor of the Milagros de Rosario in DLSC on May 19.

Prizes will be given away up to fifth placers.

The tournament will also award prizes to the top junior player, the top lady, top DLSC for Men and Women.

Registration fee for the Non-Master and Kiddies Category is P200. On-site registration is P250.

Deadline for registration is on May 11.
